Gnar Dog K9 Services was founded on 30th January 2024 by Aysun Wolf and Bodhi ’The Gnar Dog’ Zephyr, with the desire to help distressed Doggo’s, the intent being to make better relationships between Dogs and their Handlers and ultimately reducing the number of Dog’s that end up in a Shelter.  Whether that help is through our Dog Walking Service,  Rehabilitating a Dog, Training an Owner or simply coming along to our weekly ’Secure Field’ Socialisation Meets.

Our slogan, ‘Never the Dog!’, refers to the fact that its ’Never the Dogs fault’ and, that behind every dog behaviour, there is Human cause.

Aysun Wolf was born on February 19th 1973, into a household of animals consisting of;

5 Dogs

17 Cats

25 Budgerigars

2 Horses

1 Pony

1 Goat

2 Rabbits

1 Tortoise

and a Shoal of Carp

At age 14, he rescued his first Dog from a very abusive owner.  This was a highly Fearful, People and Dog Reactive, 2 yr old, Intact, Doberman Pincer called ‘Chester’, which was immediately changed to ‘Jester’, due to his hilarious antics.

At 17, Aysun began working Security, but due to his age, the only position he could hold in the company, for Insurance purposes, was that of a Dog Handler.  Aysun was then trained by a former RAF Police Dog Handler, being put through the same course and training that the RAF Police DOG Handlers (arguably the best in the world at what they do) have to complete and pass.  This saw Aysun get his first German Shepherd Dog and 34 years later, the breed is still his love and passion.

Since then Aysun has helped countless Dogs, not only his own, but those of friends and family and is a ‘Behaviourist’ and ‘Balanced Trainer’.

Bhodi has been with Aysun since he rescued him 3 years ago, on May 10th 2022.  Bodhi joined Aysun’s pack because of a sibling rivalry that he shared with his brother Rocco. Bodhi (back then Reggie) was pushed out by his brother and the two would engage in pure Red Zone Fights.  His original Owner, realising that one day one of them would be seriously injured or killed, approached Aysun about adopting ‘Reggie’ and that was that.

Bodhi is Co -Founder of Gnar Dog K9 Services and holds position of ’Pack Guardian’ through his own choice and volition and very much enjoys his job Professionally and with Enthusiasm

Meaning: ‘Bodhi’~ ‘Awakened/Enlightened  One‘ (pronounced; “Bo-dee”)

Meaning: ‘Gnar Dog’~ ‘Gnar’ from the word ‘Gnarly’ a Surfing term to describe something difficult that contained a significant risk of harm.  A ‘Gnar Dog’ is an individual, that seeks out the thrill and Adrenaline Rush of ‘Gnarly’ Challenges. (pronounced; “N’aah Dog’)

Meaning: ‘Zephyr’~ a ‘Warm, Refreshing, Gentle Breeze’ (pronounced; “Z’eh-fur”)

Meaning: ‘Bodhisvetta’~ ‘One on the Path to Becoming Awakened/Enlightened’ (pronounced; “Bode-hiss-vetta”)

‘Princess’ Bella is the latest addition to our Pack/Family and has been with us since April 18th 2024.  Bella is 13 Months Old and is a 50/50 German Shepherd Dog/Akita Inu cross.  Bella has a wonderfully gentle nature and her favourite thing is to play with other Doggo’s.

Despite having only been with us a week and a half, Bella has already told me what Position she would like to hold in our company, that of a Therapy Dog for other Doggo's that are Fearful of other Dogs.  She has already helped to Calm and Rehabilitate a couple of Fearful Dogs, purely with her lovely way of being and she truly loves her job, as she gets to do what she loves best, all the time….Play with other Doggo’s!
